I definitely don't know what the problem may be...I've had no problems with Source in ages but I always follow the old adage "When all else fails...uninstall and reinstall" I know, huge hassle when it comes to Steam but odds are something has been corrupted, deleted or otherwise f'ed up and that's one sure way to fix it...usually heheh.

btw, it looks like you've moved WAY up in the technology world since you last posted about your PC. Nice rig bro.

I have Vista and have had zero problems with it. I actually like it pretty well, but on the other hand I have read where some people have had alot of problems. So it goes with computers I guess. Good luck on fixing it and before I'd spend any money on a technician I'd definitely reinstall Steam.

•Close Steam.
•Right click your shortcut > Compatability tab > run under Windows XP compatability > hit OK
•Right click shortcut again > Run as Administrator

See if that helps. I truly forget the command for Vista to run everything as administrator, it's a godsend if you can find it. Only game I've even had to change compatabilty mode on though was CoD2 multiplayer, oddly enough the single player was fine.

Also, where did you get your video and sound drivers from? Might be a good idea to update them.
